In the light of the current realities regarding the internal displacement of Nigerians due to the insurgency in the Northeast of Nigeria, as well as the concern for the Refugees of different nationalities residing in Nigeria, members of the Ikoyi Baptist Church in Ikoyi, Lagos, paid a visit to the Southwest Zonal Office of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) in Lagos on Tuesday, 15th September 2015 to make donations towards the well-being of the these persons of concern.

The representatives from the Church, in making the donation, informed the Commission that the various items were sourced for and donated by members of the Teenage Fellowship of the Church, as a way of getting the young ones involved in giving back to the society and being their ‘brother’s keeper’ at an early age. The items donated range from food stuffs to clothing and toys for the children.

The Southwest Zonal Head of the Commission, expressed gratitude to the church for showing care and concern towards the Refugees and IDPs, informing them that the items would be judiciously distributed among the various households of Refugees and IDPs in the Southwest Zone
